UHD video: a polarized filter makes sense to leave it always on the lens in Africa?

Hi, I have no experience about a polarized filter. I will use a camera to make UHD videos in Africa (in the bush) where there is a lot of light. I like the contrast and the colours that a polarizer filter gives but it is hard to use the circular filter with the lens hood of the camera. I'm thinking to use the polarized always on the lens in the day. In your opinion do I make an error or can I do it? I thank you for your suggestions.

As long as you can rotate the filter to dial in the amount of reflection, I don’t see why not. Also, a polarizer really helps with the reflections off black, African skin.

Don't use a polarizer on ultra wide angle lenses, or you will get uneven darkening of the sky. Dish out the money for a good one like Hoya, B+W, or Tiffen. If you get one with front filter threads, you can attach a rubber lens hood and grip the hood instead of the filter to dial in polarization. SLR Magic and Genus make variable ND filters that also allow you to dial in polarization.
