UFO's, seen one?

The distance argument always assumes that someone would be traveling in a straight line from A to B. If you take the leap that there is the possibility of life elsewhere, then going a bit further to consider that they're not confined to travel in the equivalent of a Yugo shouldn't challenge you.

Time or inter-dimensional travel and wormholes / black holes and so on figure into how someone could get here from anywhere in moments instead of light years.

Batutta, that really is interesting about magnetism and hauntings. Ghost Hunters have found that high EMF fields can cause paranoia, nausea, and hallucinations. They call it a Fear Cage. It is also theorized that these high energy fields help entities to manifest. Further more, underground quartz formations also seem to influence manifestations. There is a lot that can be explained away, but there is still plenty that can't.

Me and everyone at work saw one in daylight. It was a white ball about 5 feet wide and it hovered over the highway, then flew away.

Made me a believer.

There's a difference in saying "the simplest explanation is usually correct" and saying "maybe we don't understand the simplest explanation just yet"... but just because somebody describes apples, doesn't mean it's a leap of logic for them to comprehend oranges.

I posit that if a UFO needs lights for safety or navigation, they probably haven't mastered interdimensional time/space warping... just yet... unless the concept of a Yugo w/o taillights challenges you.

With the exception of the above post... people are talking about UFO sightings... which are made possible through some pretty low tech (universally speaking) methods... "I saw the lights... right over there."

That is a good article Batutta, it had some valid points. However, like anything else, there is a fine line between Strong Beliefs and ignorance. When someone is so strongly certain they have the answers, they tend to ignore other facts that might lead to a truer conclusion somewhere in between the two sides.

I am skeptical of all cases of Paranormal Activity, but have also seen and experienced it myself. I discounted what could possibly be tainted info- Shadows out of the corner of my eye, could be a medical condition known as "floaters". T.V. turning on or off by itself could be a faulty remote in the room. Both T.V. and Surround System come on at the same time, they are two completely separate systems and remotes, and the likelihood of both remotes going wonky at the exact same time is astronomical. We also heard doors slamming regularly, and never thought much about it... until we were rebuilding the house and heard them, but we had no interior doors yet. That was a wild house ;)

Incidentally, we had a Team of Investigators come in and spend a night. I dismissed the orbs right off, since the house was still full of Masonary dust from the Brickwork in the kitchen, but even some of that had a behavior that was out of the norm. The one thing that did really intrigue me, was the EMF they found. It started at the edge of our house, and extended down the street around 4 feet off the ground.

Another thing to consider... in cases of a "lone experience" where a single person hears or experiences something... is that it's pretty hard to account for all the variables of the mind. For instance... when you dream and experience something as real as anything in reality... that tells you something about your brain's ability to create a show, under the right emotional circumstances... and I think that it's possible that the "camera" of the human eye can send images to the brain, and the brain can also send images to the eyes... as proven by dreams (during REM) and chemical (or emotional) induced hallucinations.

Isn't it funny that so many scientists, etc. expect aliens to have some universal morality towards another life form... just because we have a higher level of communication over the other life on this planet... (the other life that 99.9% of us use for our own purposes anyway?)

:) Hey... I'm just sayin'... seems like a no-brainer to me.

You never know about stuff like that, for all we know, we're considered an "Endangered Species" by some intergalactic Greenpeace type organization.

I have trouble with the distance argument too. Every time I read something on physics they always talk about how the laws of physical things contradict each other. The rules of quantum theory fall apart when viewed through the lens of General Relativity. And vice versa. Sounds to me like the boys haven't got it all figured out. As far as I'm concerned, what we call the "Laws of Physics" are an imperfect reflections of how things really are -- not even a reflection, a dim shadow flickering on the wall of a cave. I think they're digging for treasure in the wrong spot. If they can get all the theories of reality squared away, and THEN say intersolar travel is NOT feasible, I'll buy it, but until then, I'm converting my basement in to a combat shelter with canned food and weapons and movie Blu-rays, because those aliens are just waiting to jump us.

Once a few years ago getting onto the 41 freeway out of Fresno to go home there was a very bright collection of lights in the sky that was not shaped like a helicopter and was not flying like an airplane. Everyone in the car saw it but no one could figure out what it was. Passing some trees, our view was obscured and, by the time we were within the line of sight again, it was gone.

I did see two Aliens which makes me believe of other lifeforms out there. Here is a photo if you don't believe me :-)

the idea of a wormhole is possible they are actually called Einstein-Rosen bridge's and are actually the link between black holes and white holes, they exist naturally in space. If one could some how build a ship that could counter the effects of gravity, then travel through them may be possible, however as it stands know, nothing but x-rays can escape a black hole, and traveling into the black hole would destroy anything as it reached the event horizon. as well since they are natural rifts in curved space anyone who travels through them would be limited to that holes in and out points for travel. If somehow someone could create them, even temperarally the gravitational effects it would have on the universe would be viewable in the math.

I'd love to see a UFO. Not to see it, mind you, but just to stop thinking that those who have are retarded nutcases.

Just saying....
