My new project, "MyCrisis", has been selected for a U.S. Premiere at the 2009 Rhode Island International Festival this August!
MyCrisis is "short-short" project which starts with a 60 second micro-movie opener that (on its own) will screen at the Berlin Micro Documentary Festival. The whole project is 3 minutes and 49 seconds long. I had to keep it under 4 minutes for the San Francisco Youth Enivronmental Expose (I am now 15 years old)....
MyCrisis world premiered in April at the 2009 Toronto Student Film Festival. It screened with my other film "Tiny Pillows" that took top prize... so that was really cool to have a double screening.
MyCrisis was SHOT ENTIRELY USING THE BREVIS 35mm adapter on our Canon XH-A1 and WE LOVE THE LOOK it gave the short, especially when I had to show my character in deep concentration or isolation... It gave the footage a killer rich look with deeper colours and it looks like we shot on Super16 film. Awesome.
It took me a while to upload a clip because I had to check with my festival programmers because some festivals (like Chicago and Toronto) will not screen your project if it streams on the net, but a short trailer or clip is ok.
Getting the Brevis was the best thing ever. I'll keep you posted.
