TwoCor Projects shot with SgBlade

Over the last month I've been helping at this non-profit called TwoCor.
They help kids who don't really have fathers and have been through the system to try to get back on their feet.
Using hard work, the presence of a father figure and a little religion to boot they teach these kids
the ethics that their fathers were never there for. So they asked me if i would make a video for them to help get more
support and maybe even some people that would like to join the board.

So it would really mean a lot if you would take the time to watch this video, and maybe even check out their website.

But on a side note

This was shot using XH-A1 with SgBlade(flipmodule)+rotorazor1+(28,50,135) Nikkor Lenses

The blade preformed beautifully through out this entire project.
It was very easy to set up and get going imidiatly.

Thanks Dvxuser you guys have always been real great!

Feel free to ask questions about the SgBlade as this is the 35mm Adapter Forum

Nicely done. Nice pairing of music and graphics for the opening. I'm always impressed by the number of people here at DVXUser that apply their skiils to social justice/human rights issues. Godo for you!

How are you liking the Blade? Any chromatic aberration or edge to edge sharpness issues? I don't think your camera is plagued with this like the EX-1 is. I'm in a holding pattern until there has been some testing of the new achromat for the Sony. The Blade is substantially less expensive than the Ultimate but I'm not sure I'm willing to save money at the expense of image quality.

Do you have any experience with the other adapters to make comparisons with?

Thanks
Bob

Thanks so much mvansomeren, do you have any cool projects coming up with your blade?
Saw your test videos, good stuff!

Bobonli, thank you for the kind words!

I just love the blade, out of all of my gear it was defiantly the best purchase I've made, completely worth every penny. I agree, the Xh-a1 doesn't experience nearly as much CA as the EX1, so i think that's a plus.

If you're having trouble choosing between the Letus and the Blade i would take this into consideration

Blade's Ground Glass 1 (rotorazor1) is said to have a very similar look the letus with only 1/2 stop of light loss
And Ground Glass 2 (rotorazor2) has absolutely amazing film bokeh
The video for TwoCor was shot with rotorazor1

You can see my test videos with Rotorazor 2 here

But that's what's so great about shoot35.com they are always cranking out something new, so if there's a problem, they'll surly be on it right away.

Such as the New achromat, and RotoRazor3! and more RotoRazors to come.
It's like having all of these adapters in one with all of the different looks you can get
with the rotorazors.

But this is all my opinion, i have seen absolutely beautiful images from each adapter individually, it's up to you to choose which one's right for you.

I am working on a cool project right now using the Blade but it's totally proprietary so unfortunately I can't share any of it (at least not yet). But I have to say that the Blade is performing very well and no sign of any CA. I will get the upgraded optics when they are available just as a precautionary measure.

I've been shooting strictly RR2 since the image looks so nice. I wonder if I'll ever take RR1 back out of the box ;)

Hey, well when it is available, send me a link! I was so excited to use RR2 that i slapped it on first thing without even using RR1 for the first month, but then i switched back out of curiosity, and it's just been really great for this video. I'll probably use RR2 again for the more stylized stuff like music videos.

That was really good. I really like how naturalistic this piece feels, like with the shots with Daniel Chavez where he is allowed to move around in the shot. It just has a really authentic feel to it, and the soundscore fits perfectly.
You contributed a lot here for a good cause, kudos to you!

Thanks so much Smeetli, he was my favorite interview.

Well here are a couple of screen grabs from the project - one raw and one gradded w/visual FX. Don't tell anyone :)
