Two wireless mics in same room - trouble?

Hi folks.

Just discovered that the church hosting a wedding ceremony I'm shooting tomorrow uses a wireless mic set up for the priest. I use a Sennheiser G2 on the groom.

Before I speak to the priest about the matter, I'd like to be sure of my knowledge on the possible outcomes of this situation - so I have two questions for you...

1 . I presume that if my mic is transmitting on a seperate frequency then there would be no interference?

2. Could I dispose of my Grooms mic & transmitter and tune into the priests mic by re tuning my receiver to the church transmitter... even if their set up is not the Sennheiser pilot tone type?

Any input appreciated

You can have dozens of wireless in the same room. If you get something that searches frequencies then you just turn on the first receiver... seek best frequency (or check that there's no RF... then turn on that transmitter)... then do the next system until you've set up as many wireless as you want. Even the cheapy G2 will set up non-competing frequencies for you... and the standard "channels" that it gives are set up to eliminate these issues.

1. yeah no problem.

2. receivers get sound from anything that they are tuned to... doesn't matter the brand if the frequencies match.

betetr take it out before someone would belive this statement

even they on the same fq , not all the receivers would detect the transmission or just would do it badly

fm /am modulation
difference in compounding

if they have old sennheiser you can work with your receiver if you will close the pilot
