Two Rycote setups for stereo ambience & nature recording that I made yesterday. The plan is to test these over the weekend.
First a pair of matched DPA 4060 miniatures. 12" electrician's pipe, about 20mm diameter filled with polyuethane foam. The windshied is an old mid-lenght Rycote Zeppelin and this is basically an AB setup with short base, should work for closeups.
Then a juryrigged Pearl MSH10, which is too thick for my Sanken CS3e Zeppelin mic holder. I got the idea form Sanken CSS5, which also has a thinner tube at the bottom. Same plastic tube as above, generous amount of bluetack and gaffer's tape. I hope the tape does not take the paint off, white lettering was not even dry when I got the mic yesterday...
I am really exited with this Pearl MS only stereo mic, with SD722 (and SD302) it is possible to adjust the stereo width on the fly, or even use only the central hyper for mono.
