Two Questions??

Dear Forum Members,
First, when shooting in Squeeze, does FCP5 automatically recognize and unsqeeze when capturing, or are there settings that need to be adjusted prior to or after capturing.

Second, does anyone have any thoughts for finishing a DVX-100A project in black-and-white. I've heard reducing saturation alone is not good enough. Any other settings within FCP5 that may apply, or will I need third party stuff, plug-ins, software, etc.?

1) No, you have to change your setup to "anamorphic" to capture 16:9

2) I believe I already [kind of] gave you suggestions in the "technical" section. Yes, levels are tools within FCP itself. Once you actually get the footage, just play around with all sorts of tools/filters/etc in FCP till you find a look you're satisfied with. Start by desaturating, then in levels bring your blacks down, up the gamma a bit to add contrast... blah... blah... blah... there's tons you can do, and remember what I said about lighting for black and white. High contrast is always good...
