Two possible outputs, which editing mode?

I shot my graduate thesis film using the DVX-100A in 24p Advanced. I intend to possibly blow it up to 35mm if required by certain film festivals. I'd also like to output to 24P DVD for easy viewing by my instructors, friends, newspapers, other festivals etc. (Plus I'd like to have a finished version on Mini-DV tape just for my own piece of mind).
I hear some say that FCP needs to be set at 29.97 to import 24P Advanced, others say 23.98 is fine. Which is it? Will I have to do one for the 35mm blowup and the other for export to DVD?
I'm almost ready to capture my footage and could use some advice on these settings and anything else anyone recommends.
thanks
Jeff

There's a sticky on the top with some instructions. We really need Nattresse's article stickied in big letters at the top.

If you own Final Cut 4.5 or by any chance the newest 5.0, it will have a capture setting preset for advanced pulldown removal. It's like the third preset down. Then set your sequence to 23.98.

If you own Dvd Studio Pro, at any time you feel like it you can export your final cut sequence to compressor and make dvd's for friends etc.

You'll have to contact the facility that's gonna do the blowup(your film has to be freaking good, and/or you must be rich to afford doing the transfer). So, make sure you get into the prestigious festival that only takes 35mm before even considering doing a transfer.

The facility will tell you how they need the project in order to transfer. So, capture using advanced pulldown removal preset(which captures at 29.97 by the way); then edit in a 23.98 sequence. That's it. You should be able to facilitate all exporting from these settings.

Yeah, i just wanted to make sure that i didn't omit a setting in case I ended up blowing it up to 35mm.
Can use any camera to transfer the footage to my computer? I would think that all the correct info is already contained on the DV tape itself so the camera used to transfer wouldn't matter...
