Is it posible to join clips while working in the timeline in broadcast 4? I went through the manual and couldn't get an answer.

my other question is, YOu want to add a video effect to all the clips on the timeline; you select all and drop the effect in but if you want to adjust the effect it only changes the effect in the clip the position bar is on. with all the clips selected shouldn't the adjustment of the effect change the effect in all the selected clips?

Thanks to Kaspar (whom you don't know, but he's sitting here so I should give him credit, eh?), here it is:

Select both clips around the cut-point, then right-click and choose "Remove cut point" - keyboard shortcut is Control-Delete

Forgot the second question, sorry...

Adjusting the length of effects is per-effect. However, you can set the default effect length in the Settings.

While it'd be convenient in some cases, it'd also be confusing in others, for example, if you have a really short transition selected and you try to shorten a longer one beyond its length... does it disappear, or does EDIUS stop you from making it so short that the shortest transition no longer applies?

As always thanks for your help Brandon. In the first issue of joining clips, I tried what you suggesed, (right clicking and clicking remove cut points) That works if you've imported a clip into the timeline and split it. It will remove the cut point and rejoint the clip. It doesnt work with joining two clips that were placed seperately on the timeline. Is there another step I could do to join those. Thanks again
 
Hmm, I just tried this with two clips that I cut and re-added to the Bin.

Then I tried it with clips I dragged the handles on in the timeline and that didn't quite work.

It's a little weird there...
