Two diff cameras, same project

If i want to use an XL2 and a DVX100a on the same project (lets say a concert) As long as Iris and F-stop are set the same on both cameras. Will there footage be so differnet that the untrained eye will be bothered by two diffent looks on the same video?

I ask because were getting an XL2 soon, and I want to have a DVX in the future. but will the looks be so diff that it will be distracting to use them on the same project? should i just get another XL2 for multi-camera needs?

sometimes it looks cool to have different film looks, see natural born killers for instance, or if its a band documentary check out meeting people is easy from radiohead, pretty much everything with a lens was used i think.

The biggest thing to watch is your gain settings. Canon cameras tend to be pretty fast and loose as to what their "Zero Gain" setting means. I've used two XL cameras on the same shoot and their gain settings, both at zero did not match at all. Play around a bit, and you can get just about any 30fps image to look the same.
