Two 300 watt blue bulbs . . .

I shot this with two 300 watt blue bulbs (sometimes just one), then used a blue midtone to simulate night, I just want an opinion on whether it looks good enough or not. The Raw is on the left with the edited on the right. In the phone pic, it almost looks too blue. . . Arrrgh!

I would darken it as well, it seems too bright to be night. As for the blue, are you trying to simulate moon light or television light? Both scenes look indoors so I can't see why it should be moonlight.

Yes, I think your right, it's indoors, I want it cold but it's a little too much I think. I'll mess with it some more.

Okay, here's the latest try. . . I think I'm going to get a different phone, the light bouncing off the silver case is too much. The top left is my latest color correction, the top right is an older color correction and the bottom is the raw file.

It looks like you raised the blue in the mid tone. The key to night shots is to have dark in the frame. Try instead to darken the reds and greens.

Okay I messed around a little more. The top left is the Raw data, the right is edited and the bottom is as dark as I want to go without losing the picture in the background which is essential for the plot. I took the edited snaps from when the phone is ringing because I wanted to see how bright the light on the ringer would be.

I definitely like the last one the best. The colors are nicely saturated and the the crushed shadows imply night better. Some of the images above are a little washed out to my tastes. Good luck!

Okay now here's the other shot corrected the same way. Raw then edited. When rendered out 24p the lines in the light go away and the image is a lot smoother.
