Twixtor

This is probably the most difficult plug-in... to install.. I d/led the tutorials, and i can "view" them, are there suppose to be words or something, or silence. Whever i extracted the files, there were a lot. Pretty much, im asking -

How do you use Twixtor and how do you use the tutorials.

Sorry for being vague, but i've been going at it for some time now, hence the 6am time of postage.

thanks

Which version are you on? AE version. I installed it and used it without any problem on 6.5. But if you have CS3, it basically has the same functionality as Twixtor built in. Someone told me they bought Twixtor, but I don't know how true that is.

AE CS3 with twixtor 4.5.

Its built in, does it look as clean as Twixtor??

Its called time remap right?

I've had really good results with time remap and with timewarp. They both allow for good frame interpolation. But timewarp has a lot more control over it. Try one with that and see if it works out.

the built in function in AE is called "pixel motion". this is used in conjunction with the standard time-remapping function. if done correctly is even smoother than twixtor..

Well, pixel motion is the mode of frame interpolation. It does work really well with basica time-remapping, which is what I usually use. But if you try TimeWarp, you will get not only pixel motion, but extremely fine-grained control over how pixel motion behaves. It's closer to the actual twixtor, I think.

But for most of what I do, time-remapping with pixel motion applied to the layer works REALLY well.

yeah, i would have to be hard pressed to find something i was trying to do where i needed something beyond CS3's built in frame interpolation with pixel motion. ..on a side note, pixel motion based time stretching and remapping is also in PPRo CS3 basically using the same engine.

so... pretty much, if i reading this correctly, i dont need Twixtor for what im trying to do? Just speed forward/back smoothly. Similiar to the video at the Twixtor website
