Twixtor help

Can anyone help me out with the settings in Twixtor. I have played around for hours and still can't get the smooth slow mo look I'm after. Footage looks a tad jerky!!

I'm shooting footage in 24p, and want to keep it in this mode. I know I can make it smoother in 30i, but I want to keep the film look.

Re: Twixtor help

What (how many) settings are you using ?

I found the simplest way was to adjust only one Twixtor parameter eg speed % and it worked fine. Then I learnt to do ramps within the same clip by using the same simple approach. Never seemed to need other parameters for what I was doing and the results were fantastic and very smooth.

Sometimes image material with "crossings" may confuse Twixtor and you can set it up to factor this.

Re: Twixtor help

When you say "crossings"...do you mean subjects within the clip that actually cross paths?

Also, how do apply the ramps and how do they help?

Re: Twixtor help

Crossings - yes. Image paths that cross may give Twixtor some grief.

Twixtor trys to guess where the next (each and every) pixel should be for the new frame it creates so if some start moving in the opposite direction...small problem.

Ramps. Keyframed so Twixtor can vary the speed from keyframe to keyframe (accelerating and decelerating : "ramping') n the same clip. eg. Start at 25 fps ramp up to 100fps hold for 5 secs then ramp down to 4 fps and hold for 4 secs at this speed.
