Twin Effect. First Green Screen/Masking Attempt.

Hello below is the link to my twin effect I created in After Effects CS5. I shot it with the Panasonic HMC 150. This is my first attempt at using a green screen. It's not really a green screen what I used was Fluorescent green poster paper for the upper half of my subject. The rest I had to mask out. The final result isn't that spectacular. But, I learned from it :p

Good start.
With your screen you have this moving mask thing happening on the left side when there is no mask but a center mask needed. Gotta watch your masks from wandering too.

Also, my first AE project ever was similar, but I passed a coke can to myself in the air.
For that, I secured yard stick and had it flying out towards the camera from the back, and I placed the can on the end of the stick for the first shot, and the second I took teh can off.
I just masked out the can for most of the second shot and had over lapping masks for the hand over.

pretty nice!
yeah the moving mask is too noticable.
have you ever though about doing it just with a split screen?
funny thing is I just did a similer effect and did it by doing the split screen effect.
it's much easier. the only problem is to mask out parts that have over laping but with the roto brush tool it's not that hard.

Hey! Thanks for the feedback guys :) I thought of doing it just split screen but I wanted to go a little further and more intricate than that so I thought of the pull focus idea and my subject walking past herself idea. But, I guess that was too much for me to handle since it was my first time working with green screen and masking :p
