Twilight Saga: New moon

Anyway, people *do* stuff, in the 'Twilight' movie. They moan, they obsess, they stop skidding cars with their bare hands, they scowl, they sparkle attractively.

Yes, but Bella does NOTHING but sit around and look sullen while everyone somehow wants her. That's probably more interesting if you are forced to see everything through the lens of her own thoughts. In a movie, you have to watch her do nothing. They compensate with sporadic voice-over but I don't think it's enough. It's a weakness that's in the books but it isn't as problematic in that format. Movies just do certain things well and getting into the heads of characters is not really one of them. We watch and listen, and understand that way, but we don't get inside them the way you can in a book.

Sorry, I was just imagining chewing off my own leg, for a moment there...

I think this is all probably correct but still it doesn't blunt the appreciation of the fans for the product, which is really what's important when we're talking about a chunk of consumer-feed like the Twilight films. Remember, my praise for the films is entirely pinned to their effectiveness as marketing exercises, not their success in terms of cinematic art or storytelling.

Nobody can be that dumb...jeez...what's going to happen when she watches True Blood, and what's going to happen when someone points out the novels True Blood were based on were written five years before Meyer wrote Twilight.

Hmm, seems like Stephanie Meyer actually ripped off wolfman. Look:

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0034398/

The plot thickens. Dum dum dum!

What's funny is that I have a Vampires in Media class. Fun class, and it's interesting to see the origins of all these monsters, from the werewolf to the vampire.

It's sad it's come to Twilight... and that people have become that ignorant.

You should read the original Twilight script, it's bad, they had scooters that hover like sea doo's that fly around in the air.

I'll put a link up when my hard drive gets back.
