TV Tracking Question

Hey,

I'm shooting a music video pretty soon and I am having a TV monitor in the shot and I'm going to be pulling in and out of the TV frame. (I know its been done but I'm still doing it)

I have gutted a TV (took out the Tube and stuff) and I'm putting a white piece of diffuse on it. The I'm going to stick a blue light inside of it.

My question is what is the most effective way of tracking it?

I can either use AE 4 point tracking or Boujou 3D tracking. For the guys who have done this shot over and over again I could use any suggestions or tips.

thanks in advance. I'll post the WIP as they come.

Wait, why are you putting diffusion and a blue light inside?

The easiest way to do it would be to put a tracker on each corner of the screen. (Try yellow stickers, or pingpong balls) and just track those.

i have gotten excellent results using after effects tracker on the corners of a computer monitor. see my site http://john.aignam.com under visual effects for the movie "restraint" you can ask monte about the quality of the shot. no need to gut the tv or destroy it or anything. you dont even need blue or green on the tv. the after effects tracker actually works better with a range of colors rather than a solid color.

thanks for the replies.

I'm putting a light inside so that:

1) I can chromakey out the persons hair infront of it.
2) I can have a blue light on the viewers face that I can colour correct after

The pingpong ball tracker seems like a good idea I'm going to do some testing real soon.

Someone said that boujou is better because it can figure out where the off screen trackers are better than AE. We'll see.
