Tv Off Effect applied to a person

Hi. I'm trying to create an effect in which a remote is pointed at a person and then they turn off simulating a old television, with noise and flash etc.

I've come close using Photoshop to extract the person and then manipulating that in Motion. However because it is photoshop and thus a still image the person freezes.

Any ideas on how to make this a more realistic effect?

I think the easiest way is greenscreening. Film the actor in a greenscreen and the background plate, just for the scene were he dissapears. If you can't film in greenscreen try rotoscoping( very tough work), but I don't know about motion so I can't tell you. I'm sure someone will chime in.
 
Do you have a 3d of the remote and do you want the background behind the person to stay or does both the person and the background go away leaving just snow?

I did this on a dvd opening and menu Item before but everything goes away into a transition into the new video.
 
Shoot the background without the person; that's your clean plate.

Then, shoot the actor using either greenscreen or rotoscoping,
create an alpha channel so you can apply effects to the person
separate from the background.

Apply FCP6's Bad TV filter to the person (foreground) only, and keyframe it
for a nice disintegration. Add a little motion tab action to squish the person
to a horizontal line, then turn the opacity down to zero so they disappear.
A bit o' blur is always a nice touch.

Finally, composite the distorted person over the clean plate.

For the audio, it would be cool to gradually add distortion as you fade out.

For dramatic effect it might be good to have a tiny audio thump or mini-flash
at the end of the transition, just to set up the timing for the next edit/action.

You could do this same effect without green screen.

Shoot a lock down clean plate of the background. Then Shoot the actor without moving the camera. You can use a simple garbage mask and the just apply the effect to the actor plate. No need for roto or Green screen
