:violent5: You will see in these photos how my TV is positioned. Do you think that it will be safe with a fire going in the fireplace? I sure hope so.

IMO I personally wouldn't feel safe with the edge of the TV hanging over like that, but it depends on how high the flames will burn, i guess :undecided

You should be more concerned with the fact that, sitting in your chair, you won't be able to see anything anyway. But yeah, I'm with JH on this one.

put it in the fire place instead of the fire and watch the fire channel!
if you dont its gonnaburn or melt duuudde!!

Move it. The heat from the fireplace will effect the plastic on that corner of the tv. For sure. Then again you live in California. How often do you use the fireplace?

I'd be more concerned about putting a stunning t.v like that on a tiny ass unit, like that. Everyones right, the whole, right side of the tv melting thing.

Carefull you dont catch the end of it sticking off the edge and accidently tip it over. :'(

I would make a HUGE fire first. Get it really rolling. Take a thermometer and put it in the TV stand and check it out. See how hot the surrounding area gets.

The TV will have internal cooling mechanisms. But with a fire working against it the TV will have to work much harder thus lessening the life of what appears to be an absolutely gorgeous TV.

Forget the tv, you have a plastic speaker and a wooden cabinet within 1 foot of that screen. Screens aren't foolproof. Get all that stuff off the brick. Rearrange the room if need be. Cheaper than a new house.

melt your tv

melt your tv

i have lost a television that way but to close to the heater once ! your picture goes all rainbow then your out of having a good time
