Any suggestions for Books or DVDs to get started with?
I'm totally new to video and also everything digital. I have
worked in 16mm film so don't need the theory stuff you get in
many books. I just need the absolute basics for digital video.
I don't even know how to tranfer my tape to the computer yet.
Just picked up "$30 film school" by Micheal Dean as a starter.
looked at the books suggested on Dov S S Simens page so have
that to go by, but would appreciate any suggestions from this group.
Any classes held in the metro ny area which people here have taken
and liked would be nice to hear about also.

BTW is there a place for newbie questions on this board?
I couldn't find one so am posting here.

This is your best friend: http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/search.php

Just about any topic you can think of has probably been covered here somewhere. You should be able to find just about anything you want to know using the search. The "Hardware" "Technical" and "NLE" sections will be especially helpul.
