Many of you have seen music videos in which the singer is singing at slow-motion but the song is at normal speed. I fooled around last night and was able to match this effect very easily.
First, use an audio editting software to speed up your song by 200% or more (remember the speed, you'll need it later).
After that, setup your scene (make sure there's a lot of motion - walking, jumping, etc.). Playback the sped-up version of the song and practice lip-synching to the new speed and walking through the motions. It may take a few tries to get the motions and lip-synching down.
Once you've recorded a good version capture it and input it into your favorite editting software. (You'll also want to import the original version of the song you used.) Now change the speed of your video to 50% (if you used 200% for audio - or use those math skills you learned in grade school). Now try and match the audio to the video. You may need to fine-tune it a little to get the mouth to match the lyrics.
It's an interesting technique, that really looks cool when done right. The band Coldplay took it a step further, for their video "The Scientist", and also did it in reverse. For that you'll do the same thing as before accept you'll reverse the song, as well as speed it up. Although, trying to lip-synch to a song reversed and sped-up is a huge challenge.
Hope this helps and good luck!
