Just curious if anyone has any experience working with TurnHere.com - for those that don't know, it's a new website that is offering $500 for videos about neighborhoods/businesses and they are supposedly trying to drum up nationwide business by networking with the filmmakers all over the country that submit videos, and then, will hire those guys to shoot videos that they sell through their site...total pimpery.
I thought it was total bs at first, but am starting to wonder - they have received a large amount of films from all over the country that are streaming on their site now - so I'm thinking they may be somewhat legit in paying $500 per video. I thought it was bs cause I couldn't see how they could make money by doing this, but maybe they are a venture capitalist firm that has someone else's money to burn?
Anyway, I'm not totally into working with them, for obvious reasons, though it is kind of fun to watch their site. What I am interested in doing is submitting films I am in the process of making right now that somewhat fit what they are looking for, on the off chance I actually get paid - they have in their contract that I will retain the rights to the film - so I'm thinking why not give it a shot (I have some comp jobs I'm doing that should fit in their site - so easy way to recoup lost expenses), but would like to know if anyone here has any thoughts.
