Also known as floyd lamb state park. right in the middle of the desert. Who would of thought a place like this existed? Also, excuse the crappy phone images.

I'm thinking of bringing my video cam up there and filming. It's great to find places like this where you can go and relax and get away from the sprawling desert of vegas and the casinos.

i'm so used to trees and grass and flowers, i think i would go crazy living in a desert climate.

here is the closest thing in georgia i could think of that looks like it belongs out west.

I'm with Ugafan I'm so used to green that living in a desert would feel really awkward!
but I must admit that I love the different eroded mountain formations that you find in deserts, they look impressive.

Well, when you've lived in a desert as long as I have. (My entire life.) You go nuts when you see stuff like this. I'll be going up to Mount Charleston soon. Which is all green. It's like taking a mini-vacation. (and it's only about 30 minutes from my house) So it's crazy that I can go such a short distance and be in an almost completely different biosphere. It's probably where I would go first if I had to survive off the land. Although I don't know how self-sustaining I'd be. I don't think to many people could kill a deer with their bare hands, or run an animal to exhaustion for 4 hours like early human hunters did. So we'd all die off pretty quick without technology. Leaving the smartest and strongest to survive.

Unless we have some kind of survival instinct/smarts in our DNA. I'd love to test it out. Who wants to make a documentary about the 5 laziest guys in the world being dropped into a forrest? Sound like good reality TV. Survivor except for lazy computer nerd fatties like me.
