Trying to understand 720/60P, recording audio into camera, cut on a 24P timeline

To start i just want to let you know that i'm a shooter that has NO editing experience. I have a Sony EX1 that shoots 720/24P and 720/60P. i'm trying to figure out how to shoot a gag for a scene on a project i have this coming saturday. i would like to be able to shoot the gag (while recording audio directly into camera) with a slo-mo effect like the "dart in the neck" scene in Old School. watch 1:30-1:50

can this be done shooting 720/60P while recording audio directly into camera and then played back at 24fps? I say 24fps because I plan on shooting the rest of the project in 720/24P.

or how would you try to replicate that scene in Old School?

and remember I won't be editing this project.

thanks,
Mike

You would cut on a 24p timeline and slow the 60p footage to 40%. Obviously, the audio won't match at full speed.

Why would you want slow audio?

I mean, yes, you could stretch the audio out and play it slow, but it would sound horrible; why would you want that?

Yes, if you slow your video and audio to 40% you'll get the effect. Try it out on yourself sitting in front of the camera and talking to see if the audio is ok.

i have. the audio and video playback at "normal" sync sound speed when i record at 720/60P. neither video or audio are "slowed" down.

What are you editing with? In Final Cut I'd toss the clip into Cinema tools and conform playback to 23.976 fps. Video and audio will be slowed down.

You have to slow the playback rate to 40% on your 24p timeline. It won't do it automatically.
so, just to reiterate because several different people have chimed in here. if i(meaning have an editor to it for me) slow down 720/60P footage down to 40% in a 24P timeline i will get a similar effect to the scene from Old School i referenced in my very first post?
