Hello,
I have a project that I have to update once every year on FCP 5, otherwise I no longer use FCP (moved to PPro a few years ago). It is simply a slideshow of one real estate image after another, with some basic animation.
The problem I have every time I work on this is that for some images, I get this ugly teething interlace artifacts when I export the file. It is a lot more noticeable on images that were a bit small and had to be up sized to fit standard definition. In the past I have always had to use "De-interlace - blur" in Compressor to reduce the ugliness of these images, but at the expense of reducing the quality of all other images and supers that are otherwise quite nice.
Other De-interlace options such as Odd or Even simply make everything worse. The Field Dominance of my timeline is Progressive, but I have tried changing it to Upper or Lower, etc. None of these things seem to matter.
At this time I'm going to try Blur as well as Sharpen Edges in Compressor. But if any of you have better ideas, please let me know.
Thanks
