Trying to get footage from Panasonic SD100

Hi,

I've just bought a SD100 and I'm trying to setup FCP 6.0.4 to capture from the camera via USB2.0

I cannot seem to work it out, the manual has 1 page dedicated to Mac and getting the files from the camera, and this isn't even correct as it says the files are in the DCIM folder when they are not they are in a private folder and streams folder... when I check using finder.

What settings do I choose in the Easy Setup box in FCP?

Should the device control preset say "Non-Controllable Device" because everything else is firewire connected?

I have Seq & Capture presets as AIC 1080i60 and HDV-AIC

when I try to open the F8 window (Log and Capture) I get a warning saying "Unable to initialize HDV deck. Please make sure a deck is connected and try again" which I have and I can it's all connected.

A simple step by step guide on the web would be great, but I cannot find one.

Any help would be great

OK, I got a couple of things mixed up....

I usually use short cut key commands (F8) when working with my DVX100, now I realise that I need to open "Log & Transfer" not the F8 Capture window... my mistake.

But still confused as to which settings I should choose in the Easy Setup when I start a new project?

I'm on a Mac Pro 2x2.66GHz Dual-Core Intel Xeon with 8GB RAM.
Should I be using a sequence preset of ProRes 422HQ or no HQ?

you should select the preset to match your recording format. if you shot 720x24pn then you select that under easy set up.
