in the latest star trek movie. on the interior shots of the enterprise, you see alot of light reflecting throughout. any softwares out there have these. some are just lights and some would be colored reflections around the characters while they walk, infront of them, kinda everywhere.
any thoughts?

He was also known to have shone a handheld flashlight into the camera for a few lens flares effects. Not sure how far he went with it in regards to character backlighting and such but worthy of a note.

From what I understand most of the lens flares and such in that film were created practically. To my knowledge there was just a sh*t-ton of lights shining into and across the lenses throughout the film.

And honestly in my opinion that would be the best way to do it. If you can do something practical instead of relying on CG it'll look a thousand times better. And what looks worse than CG? CG in a film that DOESN'T have the funding of a major studio. Low budget CG makes me physically cringe.

Have some fun one night at your place and do different tests with numerous light setups.
