cs3 was working fine until today, now when i try to render it just gives me

"prem pro has encountered an error etc" There is no explanation to this at all, i'm trying right now to open the file in a new project and see if that works, next up is re-install if need be.

i have sufficient drive space for all my drives, someone mentioned something about changing compiler settings due to a memory issue? I have about 3 working gb of ram so not sure what this is about.

any help would be appreciated.

i might also add that I'm also receiving a "error compiling movie" as well before it crashes, as soon as i try to render again its guaranteed to crash....the project is a big one and i didn't have problems trying to render a smaller project .....maybe if i delete some sequences it might help....??

Are you using any plugins or effects on your clips? Sometimes bad versions of plugins or effects (especially something like the old MisFire Grain plugs from Magic Bullet) have been known to cause problems like this with Premiere. However, if the problem has just started, then that might not be it.

Do you have any huge images or anything like that on your timeline?

Also, check what you have going on in the background, other programs, virus scans, etc.

Most times when I encounter something like this I find there is a problem with one of the clips.

Try rendering sections at a time until you find the area that crashes, then try to isolate the crash to a particular part of the timeline until you can find the clip at issue. Sometimes the clip will scrub fine or even seem to play fine until you try to render it.

rendering....i used to have misfire, so it is a possibility that it is in there on one of the clips that was previously edited in 1.5.,,will double check the problem click and report back.

It might also help to clean up your project by removing any clips that aren't used in the timeline. Go to Project and select Remove Unused. I've found that Premiere requires more memory when it's loaded down with raw files.

yes was an effect...the shadow/highlight effect was causing the error, probably too many effects on the section, plus i have to re-grade everything so that will sort out those errors.

premiere is notorious for this - the only workaround i've personally found is to render w/ "safe" effects and apply the "unsafe" one to the rendered output instead of piling them all up - it's a pain in the ass but it'll solve the issue
