TRUE 16x9 on the DVX

hello

aside from the letter box mode....can the dvx shoot true 16x9??

Would squeeze mode help achive true 16x9??

You can buy a 16x9 adapter that will optically squeeze the image into the 4x3 aspect of the camera. It will give you much better quality than the 16x9 modes on the camera. Go look for some 16x9 anamorphic adapters that fit your cam.

Squeeze = 16x9. It's made by digital stretch, but it delivers an anamorphic 16x9 image.

Using the anamorphic adapter produces optical 16x9 using the full surface of the chip.
 
True is relative. SQUEEZE gives you true 16:9 DV footage to edit in a 16:9 timeline, but not true 16:9 resolution (compared to a camera with a native 16:9 chip).
 
I have converted 4x3 dvx100 footage to 1080p (16x9) using Algolith CAS.
It looks even better than the original!
I have a shot to show you - 19MB 1080p WMV - Can I post it somewhere?
