Trouble with front heavy mic

I recently purchased the Oktava 12 mic along with the Sabra Shock mount SSM 1, rycote BBG and Rycote windjammer.

After putting the mic into the shock mount, it's relatively sturdy, but then as soon as I attach the BBG and windjammer the mic just bounces around when you shake it.

Anyone know what the problem could be? I've adjusted the bands, but that mic is so short. The rings are spaced about 3/4'' apart and the mic hangs out past the second ring by about 3/4''.
 
firstly: why are you shaking it?


secondly: you could try putting more twists into the elastic.


i'm not familiar with the shockmount you have, can you increase the distance between the rings, like you can on a rycote shockmount?
