Trouble with a Cool Lights 4 bank CL-455

Having some trouble with a cool lights 4 bank CL-455.

Was on a shoot the other day when one of the two sets of bulbs went out. It was on for maybe 10 minutes. Power cycled and would not come on. I turned the second set off, and then none of them would come on. The light was completely dead. Reset the bulbs, it ignited and dead again. Really put me in a jam.

I never had a florescent fail on me like this. Anybody know whats going on?

Thanks Richard, I will send an email.

I think I may have found the problem. For anybody curious, looks like somehow all 4 of my 5600k bulbs went out at once. It did work once I replaced all of them. I tried a new replacement + the originals and no go. I just did not think to replace them all before posting here.

Don't think there is anything wrong with the light itself.

Cool, that you got it fixed, but weird they all went out at once.

For people in general that have fluorescent units. Often debugging / troubleshooting is best when it starts with the simplest things. The thing to remember on most fluorescent units (they often use one ballast to drive each 2 bulbs) is that there does need to be 2 working tubes for any given ballast or both of them won't come on.

So, one bad one (or even just poorly seated or a socket with poor contacts) in a set of two will insure both don't come on. Its probably the most common and easily fixed problem we see. Hope this helps.
