Director Joseph Kosinski Discusses Possible Tron: Legacy Sequel, with the great success of Tron: Legacy there is no reason why they shouldn't make a sequel as long as they don't skimp on the quality. What does everyone think?

A sequel isn't a sure thing at this point. The film is underperforming at the boxoffice for a film of its budget. It needs to make something like 500 million to become profitable and its only at 89 million domestic, 159 million worldwide in its 11th day of release. To put that in perspective, Alvin & The Chipmunks: The Squeakuel already made 135 million domestic by the same time. Avatar had made 232 million. There is a chance at the end with home video it might make it into the red and warrant a sequel, and the animated show might help build more of a following, but it hasn't been the slamdunk blockbuster the studio was hoping for.
