I have a Libec 650 and really like it............The 950 has some improvements. For a $200 tripod I think the Libec is hard to beat! My only complaint is on last night's shoot I could have used another 12" in height! It's real fast to set up!
Interesting, I looked up the model that phd and noticed that the legs are tubular. How do people feel about the leg extension of these as compared to the carbon fiber 3 stage models like Manfrotto 350b.
Im kinda stuck in a Betacam mndset and have used Sachtler Caddy and larger for years, I am thinking of looking at somehting lighter and easier to haul now that I am shooting so much with the DVX,
I am looking for thoughts on stability, setup times and things that work with the DVX.
Libec has very good price tag but I still can't find any dealer around.
Manfroto 755B tripod and 503 head is my second choice as the price selling here is still ok for me. I think the 503 head should be good enough. What about the 755B stick? The looks is "less pro" but is it stable and good? What's the bad side (or things that is missing and I should be aware of) of them?
Is there such thing as "multi-speed" fluid head? I saw those pro using fluid head that can adjust different panning speed from a dial at the bottom part of the head.
Can 503 head pan and tilt at different speed?
I'm totally new to tripod, so please forgive my ignorance
I have had the Libec LS-22 for about a month now and I have no complaints. I bought it for around $320 from Zotz Digital, they had good service as well.
