Tripod Recommendation for $1000 Budget

Hey everyone,
I have read all the postings about tripods for under $500 but I am looking to spend around $1000 for the best tripod (head, leg combo) that I can get for $1000. We all know that having a very fluid head that sits on a really good tripod makes a huge difference when filming. I was planning on ordering from BH Photo unless someone tells me where I can get more bang for my buck.

Thank you for the post. I really appreciate it. I have been asking around everywhere and figured this was the best place to get advice from.
 
Rogue, I almost bought those. The only thing that didnt do it for me was the extra hundred bucks for .2 kilos of weight on the head. Thats why I stuck with the 501 head.

Yes. The 516 is Bogen/Manfrotto's lowest cost TRUE fluid head. The 503 and 501 are great heads, but not true fluid. 516 is a great, solid head that'll last a long time.

OR... if you could pull another couple hundred, might want to look at the Cartoni Focus. Jarred did a review of it that can be found here:

OR... you could always go the used route (ebay or something) and possibly find a great deal.
