will make a trip to NYC and plan to shoot some footage at this occasion (no crew, just me, a HVX200 and a Sachtler tripod). Some time ago I heard the rumour that an official authorization is needed whenever a tripod gets used in NYC.
Can anyone confirm this? Are there workarounds for example a small monopod with supporting legs or an amateurish looking camcorder like the Canon HV20?
