Tripod Oh Tripod...

eric, I checked that tripod out at Cinegear, and it was incredible. We just ordered 40 units, and we feel they will revolutionize tripods. The sticks are based on the rugged 3182, but 2-stage (more compact), levelling head, and a 503 with a free bag. I honestly couldn't believe the deal, originally they were supposed to go for $899, but Bogen got them down to $499. Very high quality, superb tripod.

So I'm guessing I should definitely go with that tripod over the 3046/503 setup? When will EVS be getting that tripod, and will it be cheaper (w/DVX discount) than B&H's $494 price tag?

Hi Bryan, yes we have 40 units on order, and they will be a little cheaper than B&H.

For people using a Micro35, you may want to try a heavier duty head like the 516 though, I don't think the 503 will achieve the weight capacity needed.

I am happy to say that I just ordered my tripod today from B&H. I went with the 351MVB2 legs and 503 head. Its going to beat the heck out of my top o' the line Best Buy friction sticks I have now.

It sure is Terri. Tommy and I tried it at Cinegear, and like I said, we were both very impressed  . It will be the last one you buy for a long time.

Bryan, I will post when we have that tripod in stock.
