Tripod Head Screw

Hey guys,

I just recently lost the tripod screw that goes into the bottom of the camera (the name slips my mind at the moment). I've looked into purchasing a new one but can't seem to find a merchant that sells the screw by itself. I've tried local hardware outlets but they don't seem to carry that type.

Any chance someone here might know where I can pick one up? It would be much appreciated.

For reference, I use a Manfrotto tripod that a friend gave me a couple years back.

Are you talking about the 3/8 and 1/4 screws on the manfrotto plate? Any camera store will carry those. They're universal.

Mcmastercarr is a great resource for stuff like that. Check here - the thread size is a 1/4 20 for small cameras (dslrs) http://www.mcmaster.com/#thumb-screw-fasteners/=l9zq9z

have a look in there. - for a quick fix grab a short 1/4 20 bolt from any hardware store

i'd suggest buying a half dozen or more. those things have a way of not making it back where they belong
