Tripod for use with a crane?

I want to build a crane at some point, so when I get a tripod I may as well get one that can take the weight of the whole setup (camera, crane arm, counterbalance). I figure that'll come up to around 20-30 pounds, depending on how big I make it.

I'd like to keep it under $250 if possible. Are either of these a good bet?

Are you planing to use the same tripod for both your camera and crane, if so, what I've learned from experience is, you're better off getting a stand entirely for the crane use only.

Don't use the same Tripod you use for your camera, it will be worth it at the end.

If ur on a budget, check these guys out.

Do you have any personal experience with that site? I can't find anything on them at reseller ratings.

I've been looking at their package w/monitor and I have a question about their stand....

Have you had any problems with their stand since you can't really level
adjust it?

I haven't had any problems with the stand at all. What do you mean Level adjust? I can bring it up or down, and also adjust the legs, but it works pretty good.

I've only use it 3 times since I had it. I think this goes for all cranes, but setting up a crane with a monitor is time consuming. Many times I set up for a shot which is seconds in the film, but it takes me 20 minutes(excluding actual filming) to set up and break down the crane, but it's all worth it after seeing the shot.

Those stands are designed specifically for use with their cranes, so I'd have to find something else. I could attempt to build one on my own, but I doubt I have the resources.
