Let me start by saying I don't know the first thing about tripods for still cameras. So any help you can provide in terms of tips or recommendations would be great.
Basically I want something that would be well suited to shooting timelapse and some macro photography.
I definitely want something that will allow me to get low angles.
My current timelapse setup consists of a canon xti with the extended battery grip and an external intervolometer which doesn't need to be mounted on the tripod. So I don't need much in terms of weight capacity. However, I am considering riging some type of teloscope motors for automated panning... so i am not sure how much weight that would add.
