Tripod and Jib suggestions

Sorry for asking yet another tripod question, but I'm wondering specifically about a good tripod and jib combination.

We converted from Beta to DV recently and all the tripod and jib we have currently are for much heavier Beta equipment. It's overkill. We want something strong enough to support a nine foot or so jib.

We're willing to spend in the $2500 to #3000 range for tripod and jib.

ANY suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

The best light kit tripod and Job I have ever used is the Jony Jib http://www.jonyjib.com/ which has a good price point and was pretty solid. Put some good sticks underneath, cheap heavy ones like bogens, and you have a nice kit. It is even light enough to ride on a light track. And if your camera is light enough, the arm has enough strength to lift a little pan / tilt mecho up.

Promax also sells a kit I have used for very small camcorders that works nice.

Hey, thanks for the suggestions!

which Cobra Crane do you use? Looking at the Promax website, there are several varieties out there. What tripod and head do you use?

The video you linked to was excellent, btw. Makes me confident that I can expect the same results from the gear.

Thanks again.

Choose them based on weight of camera and length of job needed. The Cobra is a bit flimsier and harder to assemble than the Jony, but is cheaper, an important consideration.
