Trimming capture now clips?

When you capture to a computer (Firewire to a Macbook Pro 15") using the capture now function, is there any way of trimming the captured clip before it is saved so that you clean up the start and end points and save some drive space?

Thanks.
Peter.

Hello,
You should be setting in and out points and then capturing if you are concerned about capturing footage that you don't want. If you are trying to capture a whole tape and you have some footage at the front and end that you don't need, then set your in point at the front of the tape and then fast-forward to the end and set your out point. Press the capture clips button and you're all set.

Thanks filmie, but I am actually referring to using the capture now for live from camera capture (HVX - Z1) as apposed to what you are describing from pre-captured footage.
Do you know if it is possible to trim clips before you save the quicktime to the drive?

No, not in a live capture, you get what you get. The video stream in a live situation is be written to a QT file live as it's coming in.

Thanks Ben. I thought as much. I've captured heaps to the laptop and I've always wondered if you could trim the clips but... never mind.

Pete.
