Trick for exposure when using ND's and light meter.

Say I'm using my light meter to measure exposure and I have ND's on the camera. I want it to read what the camera is seeing. Is there a standard trick to set the light meter to compensate for the ND? Decrease the ISO? Increase shutter speed? If so, how much?

What do most dp's do for this? Thanks.

Decrease the ISO based on the strength of the ND filters. Every .1 = 1/3 of a stop, so an ND .3 = 1 stop sensitivity reduction.

I have a sekonic zoom master. Don't remember the model, but it's not the cine version.

Barry, so if I'm at ISO 200 with an ND .3, I go to ISO 100? In other words, a doubling (or half) the ISO is 1 stop?
