Tribeca Film Festival

disjecta

Lucky Duck
Have any of you guys entered this festival? I'm getting ready to blanket-submit some of my work to a bunch of festivals.

If any of you have recommendations, let me know.

Re: Tribeca Film Festival

It's supposed to be one of the most respected, therefore probably one of the most difficult to win. But as I always say, "the odds don't apply to Disjecta..."!!

:)

Re: Tribeca Film Festival

Huh, thanks I'm not even sure if my style of films is going to be appropriate...it's hard to categorize them in the limited list they have at these festivals.

Re: Tribeca Film Festival

Yeah, I think Tribeca is characteristically 'hard-edged' and quite post-modern in some cases...

P.S. Is your 'Do it, do it' from Starsky & Hutch? :)

Well screw it, I'm entering anyway.

Do it, do it!

Yes, from Starsky and Hutch....all time classic movie line.
:D

Re: Tribeca Film Festival

LOL - love that movie.

"Open the trunk, come on, do it , do it!"

Re: Tribeca Film Festival

Do it, Do it.

I say that to my kid when I ask him to do something and he starts giving me that '4 year old' crap thing that they do.

I cut him off at the chase and say 'Do it. Do it." in my best Stiller impersonation

Re: Tribeca Film Festival

Nerd Alert: Actually the "Do it, do it" is originally from the Ben Stiller Show which aired years and years ago. He played an old man telling everyone to, "Do it, do it." Great show.

Re: Tribeca Film Festival

I remember that!

My favorite part is when Owen Wilson tries to do it and Ben Stiller says "That's my thing, you can't do that."

Unfortunately, I was dissapointed with that flick. :(

Re: Tribeca Film Festival

And proud of it!

I swear I had nightmares for months after that movie. I thought they were on the walls when it was dark. I could swear that I could hear them.

Re: Tribeca Film Festival

Disjecta,

The Tribeca Film Festival is fairly new ( I think less than three years old) and from what I've heard about it it has a little bit of everything. They don't really have a mandate calling for films in one genre, which is cool. It seems to be fairly open for anything.

Don't know what your using for applying, but I'm using http://www.withoutabox.com and it's a very easy process for quickly and painlessly applying to a lot of festivals.
