tri pod decisions

I was trying to decide between these two combos. i know that a lot of people will say i should save up a few thousand for a tripod, but every attempt I make at saving up the big bucks for a nice tripod, get shot down once i blow it all on buds and beers. I now live at moms at 21 after going broke in California, and i film skateboarding.... soooo any advice or help regarding tripods in the 200 dollar range would be very much appreciated.
My realistic budget right now is like 250 give or take a few dollars.. It is all the spare money I have.

SOOOOOOOOO
My main questions are;
On choice #1 are those legs complety worthless? Will they fit with that head?????
On choice #2 is the head any good? Thanks for any advice in advance. I look forward to hearing from you guys.

choice #1
legs
head

choice #2
complete set

Sticks and a head.

Sticks and a head.

My opinion.

Spend the 200 on any head/legs you can try out/like and get the job done. You will need something and you can't allways borrow one when you need to shoot.

In that price range you really can't get anything of "quality" but that being said I made thousands of dollars when I started out using a $200 tripod/head combo. I do still use it from time to time. It still serves me well. No one cares how much you spend on your first tripod... they only care if you can get the shot you want to get.

Keep hunting on ebay on the off chance you'll find a quality head with a nice pair of sticks but that's a longshot.

I guess what I'm saying is spend as little as you can to get the shots you need to get now.

Always remember... you can rent a killer tripod if you need one. It's easier to come up with 50 bucks for a $2000 tripod for a weekend of shooting then saving up.

OK,
I knew this. I dont want to sound rude.... but between the two setups I have listed which is better? I am not going to save up 2000 dollars anytime soon. I can not even afford a car. trust me.

Bogen/Manfrotto
501 - head
3221 - legs

If you don't have an opinion on tripods already this will work well for you, with some adjustment on the pan/tilt and practice you can achieve smoooth movement for around $300.00-$350.00

It is really funny that no one can give me advice or feedback on the selections I have made. I already explained I only have 250.... and i am not getting any more money. I AM IN DEBT! so please dont reccomend 450 dollar tri pods.... seriously....

well, we do appreciate your post... but getting frustrated and posting something like your last post is def. not a way to get help. you COULD do a SEARCH and find your answer. many times the tripod question has been asked. you'll dind what you need pal...

might as well just buy a $50 one at Best Buy - anything but locked off shots are going to be hard to get if even possible. I've used my HVX with a $30 velbon quite a few times and it worked great. I'd never try to pan with it but its the "office" tripod and when my camera comes to work it makes a handy tripod to test things with. Just be careful not to tip it over. Personally I'd sell my camera, buy a cheaper one and get a better tripod.

I never suggested you save up 2000 dollars my point was that you can rent a great head and sticks for 50 bucks and that's easier than saving up.

I didn't realize that your selections were links.

Now I get it.

For now I'd go with Choice 1... although I don't know if the head will work with those legs.. call B&H on that one... can't really tell if the 501 has a 75mm bowl or just screws down on to the legs???? Can any owners help out on that?

One tip I'll give you that's cheep or free is get a few sand bags... make them if you have to and put them around the legs or over the spreader when doing quick pans. That will help the legs be more solid... and your footage will benifit from that as well.
