anyone know how to acheive this look?

What kind of lighting is used in this shot?
The light almost looks blue in the reflections, but their general skin tones don't look blue they seem like they're a greenish brown.

Or is the look mostly acheived in post?

mostly post, but you have to light REALLY soft. You can pretty much count on that being a kino flo kit.

so no special gels? I keep reading about lighting dark skintones with matching-color dark gels (chocolate skin w/chocolate gel)

you get a "similar look", but that grab was from film. There's only so much you can do with the limited latitude and color space of the miniDV.

light with flos, zoom in all the way for the shallow DOF, and pull to blue and a little green in post.

I mean that's the simple explanation, there's a lot more to it but you'd have to do it yourself to find out exactly. Lighting is all about practice and experimentation, no one can tell you how to do it in text.

As far as other videos on DV? can't think of any off hand. More and more videos are being shot digitally, but they're being shot in DVCPRO and HDCAM, not miniDV.

There's are a bunch of music videos of varying quality in the DVX grabs section, there's a music video "sticky" at the top.
