Treme (not a film, but close)

Is anyone else really disappointed with this series so far? I feel like it's stating the obvious, but in a self-righteous, c'mon guys don't you get it sort of way.

Everything feels so forced and overdone, nothing like the subtlety and genius of The Wire. And the music... oh my god I get it, they have a rich musical culture, but that doesn't mean I need 7 performance sequences per episode. How about a little story, a little plot. A little arc!

I have no idea what this was about, and when I heard, I did not watch. The Wire was Amazing (Minus season 2 and the finale) Shame I have ony heard bad things about this show.
