Hi folks;

My brother and I are working on a new travel 1/2 show, and we are doing EVERYTHING for it - script, shoot, post-edit, sound, etc.

He's currently working on the lead-in sound or theme that we will use. Please give these a listen and tell me what you think.

While you listen try to think: Travel show, with a video montage (will show a bunch of travel video clips really fast)- and then the logo of the show will appear near the end of the track. This is the opening to the show.

The 1st track and 3rd are very similar - but which one is better? And the 2nd is just 1 loop, needs more work... but don't get too critical as this is work in progress, and we're just looking for some votes on what people like!

Thanks!

Here's my mini-analysis:
The first one's too fast, for my liking at least. It would seem to me that the montage would have to be equally fast to the point that it may become jarring of annoying to the viewer.
The third one seems to limit its use to just jungle and tropical atmospheres. If this is all the show will ever look into than I'd say use it. Otherwise hang on to it for sometime when you're in the jungle.
Now, obviously, my pick is the second. It's got a nice tempo and the phaser-dealy thing gives it a nice sense of travel, a perfect up-beat opening for the show your describing.
Take my comments for what they're worth and good luck with you show.
Peace,

-Harry

Harry;

Thanks a bunch for the analysis - that's exactly the kind of feedback we're looking for!

I want to know what comes to mind when people listen to it - and which they prefer for a travel show!

Cheers!

Any time. Just out of curiosity, what kinds of places will you plan on going and what will the format of the show be?
Peace,

-Harry

well, it will be mostly national (US) with some international locations. Our first show was in Monterey, CA, and the second show was taped in Singapore. We will probbaly only do 1 or 2 locations out of the country.

As far as format - not sure what you mean. We have a host, and she will be on-camera, and narrating the story. It will be a 1/2 segment (actually 26 minutes to account for commercial breaks). Hope that answers all your questions!
