Anyone know the smallest Portabrace or Pelican case a DVX100B will fit in?
I have the Pelican Case 1510 and the PortaBrace 2400 but I'd like something that the DVX can just barely get into yet provides hardcase protection for it (viewfinder up or down). The PB2400 is like that lengthwise but it's too deep and too tall.
I would like a hardcase just for my DVX that can fit into my backpack. The reason is, most of us know traveling with a good camera can be a bit nerve wracking. Especially if you have to switch to a small flight where they make you checking your carryon underneath the plane (that's happened with my 1510 before and I didn't like it at all).
I've been hired to film a wedding in Scotland in September. I didn't get to choose my own flight or airlines as the couple did this while paying for everything. So I've got some ugliness going on with changing planes (3 times each way. And yes, never again will I let anyone make travel arrangements for me.) So I'd like to check one bag and carryon one bag. but I'm trying to take a carry on that I won't be asked to store under the plane. My backpack is perfect for that but I'd be asked to store it in an overhead compartment which puts my camera at risk if it's not protected by a hard case inside the packpack.
Any ideas?
Ideally, I would like to not take my DVX at all and take 2 Canon HV40's instead but I don't think that's possible at this time.
Worst case scenario, I'll take the PB 2400 and a purse (yuk). hahahaha
