Travel case for tripod.

Hi everyone,

Thought some of you might find this interesting. I'm traveling by air today and needed something to carry my tripod & misc. equipment. Found a heavy-duty hard-plastic golf bag case at Pro Golf Discount made by SKB (they make a lot of cases for musicians, military, etc.). It was $100 and is perfect: guaranteed for life and holds the tripod, light disk holder, extra light stand, extension cords, misc. stuff. . . ) Found one at a sporting goods store for about $60, but this one is so much higher quality it was a no brainer.

Sure like the looks of their other cases too (http://www.skbcases.com/home/index.html)

cool it really works? I was going to buy either a golf one or a shotgun one for the lights. Looks good thanks!

It really works.

Took some left-over foam from other cases & filled in the voids. I'm at the Denver airport right now & saw the same case in the baggage store here for $145 (that $99 at Pro Golf sounds even better!) There are a couple of variations on it - one is a little bigger & the other is more like a guitar case. They even have a lifetime guarantee and use user replaceable latches & handles - if one ever fails, just call & they'll send you another. Pretty cool.

The Falcon does look awsome, but that's not the one I got. The last link I posted has a picture of it: think it was the 10" hard case. I'll measure it when I get to Atlanta this evening. Whatever it is, it's 'just right' for what I wanted. Of course, now I'll try stuffing a few more light stands, another extension cord, and then I'll wish I had the next bigger one!

Wow that double case looks great. And my wife works for a sporting goods store. 8)
