transitions?

I find vegas lacking in thier out of the box transitions. I love the effects though!

I'm looking for some cool film looking transitions like the ones in this video:

Are there any good third party "transition" plugins for Vegas. I'm willing to pay $$ but I dont see a lot out there.....I'm not even quite sure what I'm looking for when I search.

thanks for any help!

You have dissolve, straight cut and I assume dip to black/white. The first two are the only 'film looking' transitions, and are almost always all you need. Outside of that, money isn't the answer. Creativity is. You can buy plugins that give you transitions, yes, but they'll get stale the first time you use them and won't be any different than what everyone else has. But you can use compositing and creativity to create as many variations of swipes and the like as you may need. Otherwise, Boris is a common name thrown around for plugin packages. Just be sure you know why you need it and what exactly you need before investing in anything.

When it comes to transitions, less is more.

Don't know what's in that video -- was password-protected -- but unless it's a complex glass-shattering or particle-type transition, you have the tools in Vegas to make almost anything you might want.

Cut and dissolve are the only ones I use (but in the current project I went CRAZY and used iris a couple times.)

The "3D" transitions are useful to fake fly titles in. Sometimes I'll use a wipe and pause it halfway through to get a key for compositing.

To answer your question though, SpiceMASTER from Pixelan has lots more transitions for Vegas.

good use of rack focus. watch mtv, vh1, etc. you don't see a lot of cheezy transitions and effects. that's what seperates the rookies from the pros.

pre-production impresses people.

I hate transitions, though i know of something you may like very much, Hollywood fx for pinnacle systems and i think they did have a vegas version, i personally like to do my own design transitions and manipulations, and that is the beauty in vegas video.

Less is best like someone said. Dont want to look like infomercial, unless its an infomercial!
