Transitioning between Aftereffects and Final Cut Pro

I need some assistance in this, My partner Works and does his effects on a PC Running CS5, and I run FCP on my Mac. It is becoming difficult when working with a multitude of clips to get them their effects and back. What I was doing is giving him the files direct from the capture scratch and he would take them, work with them, and export them as MOVs with MPEG-4 Codec. This is slow going and the codec does not like to play back very well once dropped back into final cut. Any help on what to do next time?

Or have him give you something that matches your sequence settings so the reintegration of clips will be seamless.
